Departing from Edinburgh

Day 1
Fly direct to Warsaw. On arrival join the private transfer to your hotel where you will spend 3 nights.

Day 2
Warsaw: There is much to see and learn in Warsaw.  An absolute must is a visit to the Stare Miasto (Old Town).  Although completely obliterated during the war, the area has been painstakingly reconstructed with the look and feel of the city prior to its destruction, even using the original bricks where possible. The Rynek Starego Miasta (Market Square) dates back to the 13th century and has a lively atmosphere and a choice of cafes, bars and restaurants to just sit, relax and watch the world go by.

Day 3
Warsaw: Music lovers will not want to miss the Chopin Museum set in the fabulous 17th-century baroque Ostrogski Palace. With four floors of listening booths, interactive multimedia displays and musical memorabilia this is a fascinating venue suitable for all ages and a definite Warsaw pre-requisite.

Day 4
Make your own to the station for the journey by rail to Gdansk where you will spend 4 nights. The journey time is approximately 2 hours 50 minutes.

Day 5
Gdansk: The beautiful port city, which in the sixteenth century was the most important Baltic port, has survived many years under communist rule with its beautiful Old Town intact.

Day 6
Gdansk: A must see is the incredible St Mary’s Church, the largest brick church in the world. Built in 1379, it is over 100 meters long and the nave is 60 meters wide and can accommodate 25,000 worshippers. Similarly, the Oliwa Cathedral is the longest Cistercian church in the world and houses art treasures in the renaissance, baroque and classical style.  The Crane over the Motlawa River is an unmistakable symbol of Gdansk and is one of few surviving treadmill cranes. Destroyed by the Russians in 1945, it has now been restored and provides a great background for the National Maritime Museum.

Day 7
Join the private transfer from your hotel to the airport for the return flight to the UK.
