Enjoy a enjoy a coffee, (if you can afford it!) at one of the cafes whilst watching the world go by and taking in the magnificent architecture of the square, including the majestic St Mark’s Basilica and its Campanile San Marco (bell tower) one of the most recognised landmarks.
Venice: A lovely way to spend a few hours is by exploring the outlying islands of the Venetian lagoon, Murano, Burano and Torcello. Easily accessible from Venice Island by water bus, you can watch brightly coloured glass being blown on Murano, admire exquisite handmade lace on Burano and see historical cathedrals on Torcello. Rome: A city that needs little introduction. Rome's iconic buildings are known the world over. Take on the heavyweight attractions such as the Colosseum, the Vatican and the Forum or take things easy and just wander through a labyrinth of streets that chronicle the history of a once mighty empire.
Rome: If designer shopping is your thing, then head for the Spanish Steps and take your pick of high end boutiques. If you are more of a dreamer, then don't forget a visit to the fabulously flamboyant Trevi Fountain. Legend has it that if you toss a coin with your left hand over your right shoulder into the fountain, you will one day return to Rome. Throw two coins and you’ll also fall in love...
