Departing from Manchester
Day 1: Fly direct to Pisa. On arrival transfer by rail
to the Tuscan seaside resort of Viareggio where you will spend 3 nights.
Day 2: Viareggio: Renowned for its Mardi Gras
Carnevale, Viareggio's party spirit is quite infectious. The faded grandeur of
the art-nouveau facades echoes the town's 1920's and 30's heyday.
Day 3: Viareggio: A further day to enjoy the beachfront
cafes and restaurants.
Day 4:Make your own way to the railway station for the
included rail journey from Viareggio to La Spezia where you will spend 3
nights. Journey time is approximately 1 hour. Choice of departure
Day 5: La
Spezia: Sitting just to the east of the Cinque Terre, La Spezia is an ideal
location from which to explore the "five lands". The train is
the easiest way to get to the Cinque Terre. There are trains running frequently
all year round between the five villages during the day. The Cinque Terre
National Park has adopted a service card system that enables people to use the
services supplied by the Cinque Terre National Park Authority, and that
represents a kind of self-financing. The proceeds of the Cinque Terre Cards are
mainly used to upkeep and restore the territory, as well as to provide
transportation services within the territory. We recommend that clients buy the
newly introduced Cinque Terre Treno MS Card. Please contact us for further
Day 6: La Spezia: Another day to continue your
explorations of the Cinque Terre National Park.
Day 7: Make your own way to the railway station for the
included journey to Genoa where you will spend 2 nights.
Day 8: Genoa: Italy's largest seaport is a city of
contrasts. A working city with a gritty edge, that also surprises with a maze
of narrow streets that lead to Via Garibaldi and the wonderful
Unesco-listed Palazzi dei Rolli.
Day 9: Make your own way to the railway station for the
included rail journey to Nice where you will spend 4 nights. Journey time is
approximately 3 hours.
Day 10: Nice: If you can steal yourself away from
the seafront baroque mansions and the elegant Promenade des Anglais, you will
no doubt want to explore the old town with its lively restaurants and bohemian
bars or head to the chateau with its stunning panoramic views.
Day 11: Nice: Nice boasts more museums than any other
French city outside Paris and is home to outstanding Chagall and Matisse
Day 12: Nice: Why not hop on a train and explore
further afield? Both Cannes and Monaco are easily accessible by train and well
worth investing a little time to explore.
Day 13: Join the
private transfer from your hotel to the airport for the return flight to the
