Today is
the day to start your discovery of Nice, the capital of the French
Riviera. Choose either a morning or afternoon tour. The tour commences
with a drive along the promenade des Anglais, reach the Castle hill to
admire the fantastic view, and walk to the waterfalls and its gardens.
Continue to Cimiez, an aristocratic area of Nice and discover the Regina
Palace where Queen Victoria stayed. You will also find the ruins of the
ancient Roman amphitheatre and its neighbourhood (11th century) near
the Matisse museum. Admire the Franciscan Monastery and its rose
gardens. In the Russian neighbourhood, admire the Saint Nicolas Orthodox
Cathedral opened in 1912, Russia's largest religious building outside
Russia. Stroll through the old town of Nice and discover the Palais de
Justice, the Opera and the famous flower market on the Cours Saleya
court. (Please note the flower market is only open in the morning).
A
magnificent day exploring the famous French Riviera. Follow the coast
road as you drive to Antibes with its incredible harbour and remparts.
Stop in Cannes famous for its film festival. Continue to the medieval
village of St Paul de Vence made famous by actors and artists living
there. Your tour will go through on the scenic roads of the " Moyenne
Corniche " offering a splendid view over Villefranche-sur-mer and the
peninsula of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. Discover Eze another medieval
village overlooking the French Riviera and take the opportunity to visit
the perfume factory Fragonard. Drive through La Turbie with its
panoramic views before reaching the luxurious principality of Monaco
with its Prince’s Palace, the Monte Carlo Casino and lavish gardens and
of course the Grand Prix circuit.
Enjoy a day
on your own. Return to some of the spots already visited or explore one
of the numerous museums. If art is your thing it is worth remembering
that Nice is home to collections by both Chagall and Matisse.
Our opinion… A charming hotel offering traditional charm with modern comfort.
Location… The hotel lies within a few minutes walk from an array of shops in the pedestrianised zone, the famous Promenade des Anglais and the nearest beach as well as the pretty old town.
Accommodation… The air-conditioned rooms are all soundproofed and feature an en suite bathroom, a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, Internet access, a minibar, central heating, a double bed and a safe.
