MOSCOW

Named after the River Moskva, Moscow is a capital city unlike any other. It is a city of contrasts where ancient monasteries and cathedrals sit side by side ultra modern communist concrete constructions and an abundance of newly made young Russian millionaires rub shoulders with poverty stricken pensioners. The city is most famous for the Kremlin, a series of onion domed cathedrals, palaces and museums, built on the bank of the river, St Basil’s Cathedral and, of course, Red Square. The city is also home to numerous other galleries and museums housing internationally renowned collections.
