We needed a base for 3 nights to explore Reykjavik and around, and this hotel served the purpose. The room was average, reasonably sized with a small bathroom (shower only). The hotel has no bar, no lounge, and a restaurant attached that is a separate company that serves a basic buffet rather limited choice breakfast. We used the restaurant one evening and were served lightning fast (too fast) with food that was OK but extremely expensive - but that\\\'s Reykjavik! The wine was eye-wateringly costly for what it was, but again this is usual in Iceland. The pleasant, friendly staff arranged trips for us and on each occasion we were collected from the hotel, as we were for the airport transfer. The atmosphere was relaxed and laid back - another regular feature of Iceland, we found. The hotel is 20 minutes walk from the centre of the city so expect to walk a lot but it was quite a pleasant journey. We had a sea view, if you looked past the Skoda garage over the road.
If you come here for the location and the facilities you\\\'ll be disappointed. If you come for a useful, reasonably priced base for a short trip to visit this astonishing country, you\\\'ll leave, as we did, very satisfied.
