Our opinion… Avenida Palace is a classic in Barcelona and boasts a superb location in the city centre. This elegant hotel has an art deco style with a grand central staircase dominating the lobby.
Location… At the junction of the two grandest streets in Barcelona, Paseo de Gracia and Las Ramblas.
Accommodation… 150 art deco styled rooms, featuring heating & air conditioning, TV, WiFi, minibar and hair dryer.
Facilities… Stylish restaurant and bar, lounge area and beauty salon.
Transport… Nearest tube station Plaza Catalunya.

Condestable
Our opinion… Extremely good location and highly recommended due to its excellent quality for a 2-star hotel.
Location… The Condestable is centrally located in Universitat Square, within walking distance of the popular Ramblas and Paseo de Gracia areas. A short stroll to the Gothic Quarter, Picasso Museum and main shopping area.
Acta Splendid
Our opinion… A contemporary design runs throughout this small, stylish hotel which offers good standards of accommodation. There is a small reception area at street level and on the first floor a bright breakfast room and seating area with bar service. Acta Splendid was refurbished in February 2007.
Location… The Acta Splendid has a great central location next to Plaza Universitat and close to Plaza Catalunya and the Ramblas. Catalunya Square, Paseo de Gracia, Gothic Quarter, Ramblas, and Old Harbour are within 20 minutes walk.
Sant Agusti
Our opinion… Converted from an ancient monastery, the popular Sant Agusti overlooks a small square, just minutes from the Ramblas in the heart of Barcelona. The traditional building is enhanced by warm decor and modern amenities. There is a welcoming reception area and small lounge bar.
Location… Ramblas, Gothic Quarter, Cathedral, MACBA Museum of Contemporary Art, Liceo Opera House, La Boqueria market, Catalunya Square, Port all within 20 mins walk.
H10 Universitat
Our opinion… Within a restored 19th century building, this is a new hotel in the heart of Barcelona, very close to Plaza Catalunya and the Ramblas. The contemporary design throughout the hotel is stylish and elegant, with bedrooms that are modern and comfortably furnished.
Location… Catalunya Square, Ramblas, Paseo de Gracia, Gothic quarter, Cathedral, Picasso Museum, Gaudi buildings, numerous shopping areas, bars and restaurants all near the H10 Universitat.
HCC Montblanc
Our opinion… Quality 3 star hotel with an excellent location next to the Gothic Quarter and close to Catalunya Square and the Ramblas. The hotel is built around a central patio area with outdoor pool and terrace.
Location… Set on the edge of the Gothic Quarter, Hotel HCC Montblanc is a 10-minute walk from Barcelona Cathedral. Palau de la Musica Concert Hall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is just 250 metres away.
