Fly direct to Berlin. On arrival join the private transfer to your hotel where you will spend 3 nights.
Berlin: Torn apart and then pieced back together again, there is plenty to keep you occupied during your time in Berlin. Museum Island which comprises 5 museums each holding a wealth of treasures is definitely worth a visit. Here you will also find Berlin Cathedral which has been painstakingly restored after extensive damage during World War II. No visit to Berlin is complete without a visit to Checkpoint Charlie, the most prominent border crossing between the East and West sides of the city. Checkpoint Charlie became one of the most recognised symbols of the Cold War Era which remained in existence until 1990 during the reunification of Germany.
Berlin: The most iconic of all Berlin's landmarks is probably the Brandenburg Gate or 'Brandenburg Tor'. Built in the 18th century for King Frederick Wilhelm II, the gate was obscured from view for years behind the Berlin Wall. Now a symbol of reunification, the gate is the focal point for momentous city occasions. Situated just a short walk from the Brandenburg Gate, you will find the Holocaust Memorial. The 2,700 concrete pillars serve as a sombre reminder of man's capacity for evil when bigotry replaces tolerance and understanding.
Make your own way to the railway station for the journey by rail to Prague. You will depart mid-morning and the journey time is approximately 4.5hrs.
Prague: Sitting astride the Vltava River, Prague has been blessed with good looks. With over a thousand years of well-preserved architecture on display you will be spoilt for choice when deciding where to go. Prague is the sort of city where just wandering the cobbled streets and exploring the hidden alleyways can be sightseeing enough. The Old Town Square with the Old Town Hall's astronomical clock is definitely a good starting point for your visit. Given the city's rich history there are also plenty of museums and galleries for you to get stuck into.
Prague: You can easily dedicate an entire day to your explorations of Prague Castle. The largest ancient castle complex in the world, Prague Castle was built as early as the 9th century. At the end of World War I the Castle became the seat of the Czechoslovakian government and serves today as the official residence of the Czech Republic's President. Dominating the skyline of the castle complex are the spires of St Vitus Cathedral. Gothic in style, the Cathedral is a more than worthy holder of the UNESCO World Heritage Site title.
