Day 1: Fly direct to Girona. On arrival join the private transfer to your hotel in Figueres where you will spend 2 nights.
Figueres: The town is a lively one, proud of both its deep Catalan roots and its most famous son, Salvador Dalí. The surrealist artist was born in Figueres in 1904 and although his career took him around Europe and the USA, he never forgot his birthplace and in the 1960’s and ‘70s he created the extraordinary Teatre-Museu Dalí, dedicated to the genius of surrealist painting. Whatever your feelings about art and the complex character of Salvador Dalí, the museum is not to be missed.
Make your own way to the railway station for the journey by rail to Girona where you will spend 2 nights. The train departs 1549 arriving Girona 1617.
Girona: The small city may seem to sit in the shadow of its better-known Catalan counterpart, Barcelona, but Girona is a charming historic city well worth investing the time to explore. Its narrow medieval streets hold historical treasures from every era, along with a lively selection of quirky bars and superb restaurants.
