• Look out for deals on 4 star hotel breaks

Some great free hotel upgrades are on offer for 2015  –  even in high season

The quality of many central 3 star hotels in most European cities is very high and city break travellers are often very happy to stay in 3 star hotels rather then pay the extra money required to book a 4 star which is often quite substantial. They are generally very aware that they will be spending little time in their hotel and would rather spend the extra money on better quality restaurant meals or a few more cups of coffee sitting outside a smart café!

However, for people who are able to book their city break early there are some enticing free 4 star upgrades to be found. Some highly recommended 4 star hotels in a number of cities are offering excellent deals, even for the peak months of May and June. The star rating systems vary greatly from one country to another and there can even be significant variations between different areas in the same country. However, 4 star hotels will generally be larger than their 3 star counterparts and offer more facilities including 24 hour reception, lifts, air conditioning and possibly spa/fitness facilities. Bedrooms are better equipped and often have mini-bars, TV, hairdryer and free toiletries.

It’s well worth looking our for 4 star deals to hotels such as these…
