For excellent value for money and clean comfortable 2 star accommodation it is hard to beat the RT Hotel Galicya. Although it is around 3 km from the Old Town there's a tram stop nearby and its an easy ride into the centre. Where the Hotel Galicya really scores is its price with some real bargain rates making it one of the best hotels in Krakow for those on a budget who still want decent comfort. The Royal Hotel in contrast is very close to the majestic Wawel Hill, topped by its famous Royal Castle, and just a few minutes easy walk from the pedestrianised Old Town centre and from the former Jewish Quarter.  The Royal features elegant decor and furnishings in keeping with its historic provenance and some of the rooms are splendidly large for a 2 star. Both these hotels more than make up for their 2 star rating in other ways enabling them to rank amongst the best hotels in Krakow but the Royal's excellent location just tips the balance and earns it our Recommended Hotel status for a 2 star.
